Klaus Voormann is a German graphic designer, illustrator, musician and producer. He was born in Berlin on April 29, 1938. AWARDS Grammy winner for his album cover art- work The Beatles Revolver (1966) and for his participati- on in George Harrison’s Concert for Bangladesh (1971). Grammy nomination for the packaging of the Voormann & Friends – A Sideman’s Journey limited super deluxe edition (2011). Art Directors Award for a British Vogue session with Twig- gy (1969). MUSIC Member of the Manfred Mann group and of Yoko Ono‘s & John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band. Session musician in the USA and the UK with John Len- non, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Carly Simon, Harry Nils- son, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ran- dy Newman and others. Producer of many German artists and groups, such as Trio. Release of his own album and film project Voormann and Friends – A Sideman’s Journey with more than 30 artists and friends like Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yusuf (Cat Ste- vens), Dr. John, The Manfreds, Van Dyke Parks, Joe Walsh, Jim Keltner, Albert Lee and many others (2009/2010). Plastic Ono Band reunion with Eric Clapton, Yoko Ono, Jim Keltner, Sean Lennon for We are Plastic Ono Band Concert in Brooklyn/New York (2010). ART Designed more than 100 covers for re- cords, books, magazines, concert posters for the BeeGees, Turbonegro, Wet Wet Wet, The Beatles Anthology, Woody Allen, Der Spiegel, Rolling Stone Germany. A Sideman’s Journey, a 70 min. documentary about the studio sessions for the eponymous album in East Sussex, London, Hamburg, Los Angeles and Memphis (2008/2009) produced by Klaus Voormann and TGM GmbH in collabora- tion with cmp Munich and Universal Music Group. Klaus Voormann lives south of Munich in an old farm- house and works mainly as an illustrator for national and international media and companies. He and his wife Chris- tina are ecological activits and longstanding supporters of international biodiversity, environment and health projects.
