From November 29 to December 2, Bari is the venue for the second edition of Medimex, the Mediterranean Music Fair organized by Puglia Sounds, the program of the Puglia Region for the development of its music system.
The second edition of Medimex sees the participation of music operators and music businesses from all over Europe, and registers a 30% increase over the previous edition in terms of visitors and more than 100 applications from Italian and international groups for showcases. More than 1,300 operators and exhibitors from Italy, France, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Lebanon, Portugal, Poland, Algeria, Egypt, Greece, Tunisia, Morocco, Luxembourg and Iceland.
Four days of events focusing on the new scenarios of the music market, artistic and commercial exchange of ideas, new music trends, opportunities for discussion and understand differences and analogies among regional, Italian and international music markets: Medimex confirms the successful format of the first edition, introducing some new features. On November 29, opening ceremony at Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari with the show Meraviglioso Modugno, a tribute to Domenico Modugno.
From November 30, the 8,000 square meters of exhibition space will open up to over 1,000 music professionals from 20 countries and to the general public with a rich program of events: 23 afternoon and evening showcases spanning all musical genres, more than 50 events including conventions, presentations, face to face(s), workshops, author’s workshops, Meet the Author gatherings and keynote speeches with big names of Italian music, protagonists of the music industry and representatives of cultural institutions and of the main Italian and international festivals and the award ceremonies for Medimex Best Italian Artist and Best International Artist 2012, Pimi and Pivi.
Among the artists participating in the inaugural night event, Negramaro, Noemi, Alessandro Mannarino, Brunori Sas, Dente, Pacifico, Ginevra di Marco, Erica Mou, Mamma Marjas, Raiz&Radicanto. And then, again, during the four days, Meet the Author talks with Antonello Venditti, Caterina Caselli, Mogol and showcases of Faraualla, Chemirani’s, Radio Babel Marseille.
