Woodstock was not only the greatest rock happening of all time, but a watershed moment that marked the emancipation of pop music that, from being a soundtrack was to become music history itself: a rapid succession of events capable of leaving a permanent impact on our collective consciousness, on popular culture, in the language of that time. Besides the greatness of the artists who took part in this three-day festival of peace, love and music, well beyond the tremendous power of the live performances and of the songs that really expressed of the spirit of the time, that festival was turned into a collective ritual whereby the most important polytheistic religion of the twentieth century became timeless and was delivered to posterity. Medimex Book 2019 is dedicated to the myth of Woodstock, to the cult of its pagan gods, to the heroic and erotic gestures of its prophets and its priestesses. Corrado Minervini, writer and music critic, will talk to some of the most famous Italian music journalists and authors of books on Woodstock, its time, its heroes.
