A brief history of Medimex
Every year, Puglia Sounds produces and hosts Medimex — International Festival & Music Conference.

In addition to Bari, Medimex has also been held in the towns of Foggia and Taranto.

Medimex, an event organized by Puglia Sounds that launched it for the first time in 2011 as a trade fair and expo of music innovation, since 2017 has become a “scattered” International Festival & Music Conference, that combines a number of events aimed at music professionals with a full-scale festival featuring many events for the general public. The different editions have turned Medimex into a landmark (economic and cultural) event for Italian and international music operators and businesses, music professionals and artists, an unmissable yearly appointment for that segment of the of the Italian music market that wants to get connected with the international music scene, through exchange of ideas and experiences and by sharing insights into the world of music, by networking and promoting their work.

The first travelling edition was held in Taranto, from June 7 to 10, 2018, with a full calendar of events scattered in the most beautiful places of the town. In 2019 Medimex was proposed in a spring edition in Foggia followed by another edition in June in Taranto which saw a growing number of participants.

The spaces of the University pulsate with life for professional and networking activities which brought a prestigious representation of the Italian music market to Taranto to discuss the Music Commission, support for the new generations, the live market, the recording industry, songwriting, protections and rights, funding for the recording industry and music in the time of TikTok.
