


Medimex 2025 – the international festival and music conference promoted by Puglia Culture as part of the Puglia Sounds program – returns to Taranto from June 17 to 21 with a stellar lineup of international artists: Massive Attack, Primal Scream and St. Vincent.The 2025 edition of Medimex revolves around the theme Strada “On the Move”, exploring the idea of travel, transformation, migration, and music as a vehicle for change. Once again, the festival offers a rich and diverse program: major concerts, showcases, networking opportunities, training sessions, talks, exhibitions, and artist presentations, all designed to engage music professionals, emerging talents, creatives, and music lovers alike. This year’s edition will be curated by Antonio Diodato and Michele Riondino, two renowned artists from Taranto, who will work pro bono alongside Artistic Coordinator Cesare Veronico to develop new projects and initiatives, to be announced in the coming weeks.

As always, the iconic Rotonda del Lungomare will host the festival’s key live events:
• Friday, June 20: Primal Scream, a pioneering Scottish band, take the stage.
• Saturday, June 21: St. Vincent, the American singer-songwriter and five-time Grammy Award winner, performs in a much-anticipated show.
• Also on June 21: Massive Attack, the visionary founders of trip-hop and known for their political and environmental activism, will headline what promises to be an unforgettable night.
Alongside the international concerts, Medimex 2025 will once again feature its Showcase Program, spotlighting 15 of the most exciting acts on the Italian and Apulian music scenes, selected through an open call (details on medimex.it). The festival also confirms its role as a hub for professional developmentand networking, with the participation of key organizations including Assomusica, Keepon Live, I‑Jazz, Rete Italiana World Music, FIMI, Equaly, and Desk Italia Europa Creativa.

Educational activities will return with a renewed format tailored to young people entering the industry and professionals seeking to update their skills.
The Racconti “Stories” section will pay tribute to influential figures in global music, cinema, and literature, including book launches and author events. Medimex will also celebrate the interplay between music and visual arts, with a major photography exhibition dedicated to Amy Winehouse (hosted at MArTA), a video mapping installation retracing the history of the festival, and a series of satellite events.
