The main programme of the 2012 edition of MEDIMEX takes place at the Fiera del Levante, which this year hosts more than 140 exhibition stands, and also involves the Teatro Petruzzelli, the Cineporto and the Kismet Opera and Forma theatres. All between 29 November and 2 December. This is an edition of confirmation and relaunch. The ideas of the first edition take on new life, new events are defined, and Puglia grows as a host region able to engage positively with the rest of the world.
The meetings become Incontri d’Autore (Meet the Author), curated and often hosted by Ernesto Assante and Gino Castaldo and other personalities. The guests include Caterina Caselli, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Antonello Venditti and Mogol. These meetings are joined by the Botteghe d’Autore (Author Workshops), which offer a privileged look at the birth and work of great artists. In this edition: Nicola Piovani, Guido Harari, Max Pezzali, Congorock.
The Teatro Petruzzelli hosts Meraviglioso Modugno, a tribute to Domenico Modugno with the artists Noemi, Alessandro Mannarino, Pacifico, Negramaro, Ginevra Di Marco, Mama Marjas, Dente, Raiz & Radicanto, Erica Mou and Brunori Sas. Franca Gandolfi, Franco Migliacci and Rosy Gargiulo are in the audience.
The conference features 31 events led and run by journalists, music critics, professionals and representatives of institutions and of national and international organisations: 3 keynotes on the future of music and 4 workshops on the environmental sustainability of festivals and events, two on using YouTube as a partner and as a platform for building successful distribution and, finally, one on public spaces for music in Puglia. There are as many as 24 presentations by associations, companies and organisations on the work that supports music and happens within it. In addition, 35 professionals from fairs, conventions and festivals meet the showcase artists in timed face-to-face sessions.

Miss Mykela, Raffaella Aprile, Anna Cinzia Villani, Radio Babel Marseille.
The candidates for the Premio Tenco, “Il Tenco Ascolta”, also play at the Teatro Forma: Nicola Giuliani, Ironique, Luca Loizzi, Os Argonautas, P40, Raffaela Vasquez; and for the “xL Special Night” at the Teatro Kismet Opera: Boomdabash, Mellow Mood, Il Teatro degli Orrori.
The programme is completed by the PIMI, the Italian independent music award, and the PIVI 2012, the Italian independent music video award, both promoted by MEI; the ARCI Real Tour Medimex; and the MEDIMEX awards to Negramaro, best Italian artist of the year, and to Asaf Avidan as best international artist.
