In recent years, the term jazz, which has always tried to define very different languages and practices, has returned to the center of the storytelling of many musics that move between funk, hip hop, pop and club culture, re-actualizing that bond with dance and the body that has always been indissoluble in black music. From collaborations between jazz artists and DJs to the award-winning multiculturalism of projects such as Ezra Collective, through the incessant dialogue with the world of hip hop and the return of electric sounds and 70s atmospheres, this panel tries to tell how hybridization and the “return” to the roots are vital elements in the continuous renewal of the music that we welcome under the broad umbrella of the word jazz.
