On May 26, 1926, trumpeter Miles Davis, one of the most important figures in the history of jazz, was born in Alton, Illinois. On the first centenary of his birth, “Round About Miles,” a recital of music and lyrics, celebrates the great trumpeter’s life, his encounters, and his most famous recordings. Through the voice of the only European journalist to boast a friendship with Davis, music critic and jazz historian Ugo Sbisà, memories and anecdotes from the life of Miles Davis, collected directly from Sbisà, trace the trumpeter’s extraordinary career, rich in collaborations with numerous equally legendary artists such as Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix, but also Jean Paul Sartre, Juliette Greco, and others.
