Massive Attack, Primal Scream and St. Vincent international guests of Medimex 2025 in Taranto from 17 to 21 June

Med­imex 2025 – the inter­na­tion­al fest­iv­al and music con­fer­ence pro­moted by Puglia Cul­ture as part of the Puglia Sounds pro­gram – returns to Taranto from June 17 to 21 with a stel­lar lineup of inter­na­tion­al artists: Massive Attack, Prim­al Scream and St. Vin­cent.The 2025 edi­tion of Med­imex revolves around the theme StradaOn the Move”, explor­ing the idea of travel, trans­form­a­tion, migra­tion, and music as a vehicle for change. Once again, the fest­iv­al offers a rich and diverse pro­gram: major con­certs, show­cases, net­work­ing oppor­tun­it­ies, train­ing ses­sions, talks, exhib­i­tions, and artist present­a­tions, all designed to engage music pro­fes­sion­als, emer­ging tal­ents, cre­at­ives, and music lov­ers alike. This year’s edi­tion will be cur­ated by Ant­o­nio Diod­ato and Michele Riondino, two renowned artists from Taranto, who will work pro bono along­side Artist­ic Coordin­at­or Cesare Veronico to devel­op new pro­jects and ini­ti­at­ives, to be announced in the com­ing weeks.

As always, the icon­ic Rotonda del Lun­go­mare will host the festival’s key live events:

Fri­day, June 20: Prim­al Scream, a pion­eer­ing Scot­tish band, take the stage.

Sat­urday, June 21: St. Vin­cent, the Amer­ic­an sing­er-song­writer and five-time Grammy Award win­ner, per­forms in a much-anti­cip­ated show.

• Also on June 21: Massive Attack, the vis­ion­ary founders of trip-hop and known for their polit­ic­al and envir­on­ment­al act­iv­ism, will head­line what prom­ises to be an unfor­get­table night.

Along­side the inter­na­tion­al con­certs, Med­imex 2025 will once again fea­ture its Show­case Pro­gram, spot­light­ing 15 of the most excit­ing acts on the Itali­an and Apuli­an music scenes, selec­ted through an open call (details on medimex.it). The fest­iv­al also con­firms its role as a hub for pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment­and net­work­ing, with the par­ti­cip­a­tion of key organ­iz­a­tions includ­ing Assomusica, Kee­pon Live, I‑Jazz, Rete Itali­ana World Music, FIMI, Equaly, and Desk Italia Europa Cre­ativa.

Edu­ca­tion­al activ­it­ies will return with a renewed format tailored to young people enter­ing the industry and pro­fes­sion­als seek­ing to update their skills.

The Rac­conti “Stor­ies” sec­tion will pay trib­ute to influ­en­tial fig­ures in glob­al music, cinema, and lit­er­at­ure, includ­ing book launches and author events. Med­imex will also cel­eb­rate the inter­play between music and visu­al arts, with a major pho­to­graphy exhib­i­tion ded­ic­ated to Amy Wine­house (hos­ted at MArTA), a video map­ping install­a­tion retra­cing the his­tory of the fest­iv­al, and a series of satel­lite events.
