The 2025 edition recorded great participation in the approximately 70 scheduled events, important media coverage, over 1 million users reached and 5 million impressions on social networks (data being updated), sold out accommodation facilities and notable participation of operators in the sector.
Unforgettable concerts at the traditional Rotonda del Lungomare in Taranto, featuring St. Vincent, Primal Scream, and Massive Attack (all sold out). Antonio Diodato’s special project, Le Strade del Mediterraneo, was a huge success and sold out, featuring La Niña, Bab L’Bluz, and Magalí Datzira at the Castello Aragonese in Taranto. The showcases attracted a large turnout, with Scuro, Cheema, Music Unite, TI, GIIN, Partinico Rose, Alex Cole, Natalia Abbascià, Ra di Spina, Alessandro Campobasso Endless Trio, Gaia Mobilij, AVA Trio, Joe Allotta, Simoni:Teolis, Federico Nuti InFormal Setting, and Marco Centasso UM/WELT. The exhibition Amy Winehouse before Frank by Charles Moriarty, on display until July 6 at the MArTA, National Archaeological Museum of Taranto, has already attracted numerous visitors. The exhibition features around 50 previously unpublished images that tell the story of one of the most beloved artists of recent decades.
The high-impact On the Road compilation, the Projection Mapping Show, an original work by Roberto Santoro, and Blending Pixels, created for Medimex, which this year retraced the history of the event and celebrates peace and freedom, were also well received. There was considerable participation in the Talks with Charles Moriarty, Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, and Marc Urselli, and the Teatro Fusco sold out for the Stories Once in a Lifetime: the story of Talking Heads curated by Radio Medimex, Billie Holiday: Chasing the Scream curated by Roberto Ottaviano, Bob Marley: Songs of Redemption, curated by Carlo Massarini, The Clash: (Songs of) Joy and Revolution, curated by Carlo Massarini with Don Letts, and for the screening of the documentary Blur: To The End with Cecile B and Dave Rowntree. This year, too, there’s a strong focus on young people, with the first edition of Medimex Music Business Management, an educational program for recent graduates and undergraduates under 30, co-branded with 24ORE Business School and Medimex Music Factory. This year, in collaboration with Warner Chappell Music Italiana, it’s aimed at young authors, producers, and composers.
Around 300 music professionals participated in the professional activities, which this year featured a rich calendar of panels, workshops, thematic roundtables, and networking sessions. Medimex Book Stories, the section dedicated to music books, also enjoyed a strong turnout, this year hosting Ermal Meta, Cristiano Godano, Erica Mou, and Ghemon.
