Five years have passed since the passing of Franco Battiato. An absence that is only apparent, filled by an immense artistic legacy that continues to speak to us and guide us. Today we choose to honor him by bringing his work back to the forefront, embarking on an emotional journey through his music and poetry: Il Mare nel Cassetto. Leading us on this journey will be Silvia Boschero, journalist and longtime voice of Italian radio; Giua, a Genoese singer-songwriter with an eclectic sensibility; and Anais Drago, one of the brightest talents of new Italian jazz. A vital element of this experience is the search for identity. “Who am I?” is the question that has haunted Battiato since his youth, indelibly marking his artistic journey. The show unfolds through iconic songs, creating a flow of reflections that invites the audience to explore their inner selves. The musicians reinterpret the most famous songs, combining acoustic and minimalist arrangements with bold electronic forays. A mix that pays homage to the Maestro’s legacy, keeping his innovative and provocative spirit alive. The setlist features classics like “Cuccurucucù,” “La stagione dell’amore,” “Sentimento nuevo,” and “Centro di gravità permanente” becoming pieces of a mosaic enriched with new meanings. Silvia Boschero’s narration intertwines chronology and universal themes, creating a profound connection between words and music. Il Mare nel Cassetto is not just a tribute, but an invitation to embark on your own journey of self-discovery. An immersive and reflective experience, capable of celebrating the uniqueness and eternal beauty of Franco Battiato’s art.
