Sami Galbi

Lineup: Sami Galbi (guitar, electronics, vocals), Yann Hunziker (percussion).

Admission to the concerts is free until all available seats are filled.

Sami Galbi, a Swiss-Moroccan multi-instrumentalist and producer from the alternative scenes of French-speaking Switzerland, draws inspiration from his parallel musical worlds to create his sound. On the one hand, he embraces raï and chaâbi, the folk music of his childhood, rediscovered in the taxis and cabarets of Casablanca. On the other, he blends the urban sampling and electronic music that shaped his education: American hip-hop, UK bass, house, reggaeton, and baile funk. Using analog instruments, synthesizers, and his guitar, he reinterprets North African folk music, infusing it with contemporary sounds and a club vibe. On stage, Sami delivers a high-energy performance, borrowing elements from the codes of postmodern urban music.

Part of the program Le strade del Mediterraneo curated by Antonio Diodato.
