Pet Shop Boys DREAMWORLD – The Greatest Hits Live (first date of the European summer tour – exclusive to Southern and Central Italy), Suede (only Italian date), Slowdive (only Italian date), NYC Redux Band playing the music of Ramones (world premiere, an original Medimex production curated by Marc Urselli), and Agents Of Time are the guests of the two concert evenings of Medimex 2026, the International Festival & Music Conference promoted by the Apulia Region and Puglia Culture as part of the Puglia Sounds project for the development of the regional music system, scheduled from 17 to 21 June in Taranto.
Medimex returns with a program featuring major international concerts, professional and networking activities for music industry operators and Apulian artists, showcases presenting new acts from the regional and national scenes, meetings, exhibitions, storytelling dedicated to the great figures of world music, presentations, and activities designed to bring audiences closer to the world of music. This edition takes an ideal journey from punk to pop—two musical genres that over the years have influenced and permeated the collective imagination and global culture—through a dense calendar that forms a mosaic of events, experiences, and in-depth sessions aimed at industry professionals, young people, artists, and music lovers.

Concerts on 20 JUNE


There are two evenings of major international music scheduled at the Rotonda on the Taranto seafront. On Saturday, 20 June, Pet Shop Boys present DREAMWORLD – The Greatest Hits Live. The iconic duo, who over forty years of activity have achieved numerous records and shaped the pop genre with unforgettable hits, will bring an immersive, technology-driven live show that The Times has hailed as “the most fascinating pop show of the year.”
Also performing on the same evening are Agents Of Time, an Apulian electronic music act formed by producers Andrea di Ceglie and Luigi Tutolo. Since 2013, they have performed at major festivals and dancefloors around the world and have remixed a track by The Weeknd.

Concerts on 21 JUNE


Three concerts are scheduled for Sunday, 21 June. Medimex celebrates 50 years of punk with NYC Redux Band playing the music of Ramones, a world premiere and original Medimex production curated by Marc Urselli. Songs from the Ramones’ self-titled debut album will be reinterpreted by a supergroup bringing together some of the most important musicians from the U.S. scene: Brian Chase (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Sami Yaffa (Michael Monroe, Joan Jett), Steve Conte (New York Dolls), Kid Congo Powers (former Bad Seeds), Luis Accorsi (Toxic Tito), Eugene Hutz (Gogol Bordello), Victoria Espinoza (Puzzled Panthers / Gogol Bordello), and Tammy Faye Starlight.
Slowdive return to Medimex after their unforgettable 2017 concert in Bari. The British band, essential for shoegaze enthusiasts, boasts cult albums and live performances.
Finally, Suede, pioneers of britpop, will be in Taranto to perform the most celebrated songs from their repertoire as well as tracks from Antidepressants, their acclaimed latest album released in 2025.
Showcases and artistic consultancy by Diodato and Riondino. Le Strade del Mediterraneo returns
A program of showcases is also planned to present the most interesting projects from the new Apulian and national music scene. Once again, the festival benefits from the artistic consultancy—provided free of charge—of Antonio Diodato and Michele Riondino, who work alongside artistic coordinator Cesare Veronico. Antonio Diodato presents the second edition of Le Strade del Mediterraneo, a special project designed to introduce new sounds and create a strong connection between the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, while Michele Riondino proposes a special project combining music and theatre.
Professional and networking activities
Professional and networking activities return, aimed at facilitating meetings and connections between the Apulian music sector and representatives of the Italian music business. The program includes panels, round tables, and masterclasses organized in collaboration with some of the leading Italian music networks: Assomusica, Keepon Live, I-Jazz, Italia Jazz Club – Italian World Music Network, and the Creative Europe Desk Italy. The training segment Medimex Music Factory is confirmed, aimed at authors, producers, and composers, along with a brand-new event dedicated to Hip Hop culture featuring workshops on writing, composition, and graffiti.
Photography exhibition dedicated to the Ramones and punk
Stories and music books return
An important photography exhibition and a video mapping installation dedicated to the Ramones and the 50 years of punk will explore the relationship between the two musical genres. Racconti (Stories)—the great narratives of the protagonists of world music—and music books also return, with the traditional and increasingly popular author-led presentations.
